The apartments are located on the beautiful Island of Ortigia (1700m long by 650m wide), the historical centre of Siracusa and home to most of the city's treasures (the Temple of Apollo, the Fountain of Aretusa, Piazza Duomo, the Cathedral and Bellomo Museum). The narrow streets with their baroque balconies, the nightlife (bars, restaurants, pubs), the characteristic market and much, much more. The other areas of interest in the city (Paolo Orsi museum, Catacombs of San Giovanni and the archaeological park) are approximately 15 minutes walk away. Other places of interest, the other principle cities such as Palermo, Catania, Agrigento, Taormina and the airport are reached thanks to the coaches/buses that run from the station. Although Ortigia is not a sea resort, during the summer months, swimming and sunbathing is possible at the designated areas along the rocky coastline, where there are a number of sunbathing platforms (equipped with sun-loungers, sun-umbrellas, showers and bars). There is also a boat service which for a small charge and in a just a few minutes takes you to a small sandy beach. Ortigia also offers numerous shops to meet all requirements.
